Replacing rear disc brake pads (Mazda Familia BF)

Note: Replace the brake pads of both rear wheel brake mechanisms at the same time. Install the friction linings of the brand and type recommended by the manufacturer.


Raise the rear of the car, place it on stands and remove the wheel.

Completely unscrew the lower guide pin mounting bolt.

Fold back the brake caliper and tie it to the body with wire.

Remove the brake shoes with the pressure pads.

Make sure both brake shoe springs are in place.

Install new brake pads and linings.

Lower the brake caliper.

Tighten the lower guide pin mounting bolt to a torque of 1.6-2.4 kgf·m.

Install the wheel and lower the vehicle.

Press the brake pedal several times to set the piston to the working position.
