Bottom protection and cavity preservation (Mazda Familia BG)

The entire underbody, including the rear wheel arches, is coated with protective mastic. Particularly dangerous areas in the front wheel arches are protected from stone impacts by polymer lockers. All cavities are coated with special wax. Therefore, the body parts subject to corrosion are made of galvanized iron. Before the start of the winter season and after washing the underbody, the protective layer should be checked and renewed if necessary.

Dust, clay and sand can accumulate in the rotation and bottom areas. Removing the accumulated dirt, to which salt is added in winter, plays an important role.

Preservation of the engine compartment

To prevent corrosion of the car (side members, side members or panels) and the drive unit, the engine compartment including the brake system and front suspension components located therein, as well as the steering system, must be coated with effective preservative wax. First of all, of course, after washing the engine.

Caution! Before washing the engine, cover the generator and brake fluid reservoir with plastic bags. The generator bearings are protected from water, but when cleaning, there is a risk that the bearings will be damaged by fat-dissolving additives. The consequences may be negative phenomena, such as bearing noise or even failure. After applying wax, clean the joints and lubricate them with MoS ₂ paste.
