Preservation of the paintwork
From time to time, you need to protect the paint with a preservative, applying it to a cleanly washed and dried car, in order to protect the paintwork by creating a water-repellent layer.
Spilled fuel, oil, brake fluid and other liquids must be removed from the paintwork immediately.
Preservation must be repeated when the water does not roll off the paint, but spreads over a large surface. Regular treatment with a preservative composition allows you to maintain the gloss of the paint for a long time.
Polishing
Polishing of a paintwork is necessary only when the paint is tarnished due to irregular maintenance and exposure to road dust, exhaust fumes, sun and rain, and the use of preservatives does not give the desired effect. Care should be taken when using polishes with an abrasive and corrosive effect, and always test it on a small area first.
Wash and dry the car thoroughly before polishing. Be guided by the instructions for the use of polishing agents.
Processing should not be carried out on large surfaces to avoid premature drying of the polishing compound. When using some products, it is necessary to apply a preservative composition in conclusion. Do not polish in the open sun! Matt painted surfaces must not be treated with preservatives or polishes.
Removing resin stains
Resin stains eat into the paint in a short time, and it may happen that they cannot be removed at all. Fresh tar stains can be removed with a rag soaked in refined gasoline. Never use ordinary gasoline, kerosene or turpentine. Paint preservative works very well to protect against tar stains. When using these products', you can then not wash the car.
Removal of insect remains
Insect remains contain a substance that can damage the paint film if not removed soon after contact with the paint. Traces should be removed with a mild soap or car shampoo using a sponge. There are also special means for removing insects.
Care of plastic parts
Plastic parts and matte black parts should be cleaned with water and shampoo. If necessary, a special cleaner for plastic parts can be used. Never use solvent, acetone or fuel.
Caring for rubber seals
From time to time, it is necessary to powder the sealing and contact surfaces of rubber seals with talcum powder or apply an aerosol silicone composition to them to maintain elastic properties. Often there are creaking sounds when closing doors. They can be eliminated by lubricating the respective surfaces with lubricating oil.
Seat belts
Seat belts should be cleaned with soapy water when installed. Do not use chi-laic cleaners. Roll inertia belts only when dry. Dry the belts at a temperature not exceeding 80°C or in the open sun.
Preservation of the engine compartment
To prevent corrosion of parts of the front of the car (side parts, spars or protective covers) and the power unit, an effective preservative must be applied to parts in the engine compartment, including parts of the brake system, front suspension and steering. This should be done, of course, after washing the engine.
Attention! Before washing the engine, in particular with an engine cleaner or hot steam jet, cover the alternator, fuse box and brake fluid reservoir with plastic bags.
