Tires of balanced wheels wear evenly over the entire working surface, provided that the prescribed tire pressure is observed, the wheels are correctly adjusted and the shock absorbers are working. In case of uneven wear, see the table of malfunctions in Chapter Wheels and tires, body, car painting, car care. Otherwise, nothing definite can be said about the service life of tires of individual manufacturers, since the service life depends on various factors:
  • Road surfaces
  • Tire pressures
  • Driving Manners
  • Weather conditions

First of all, a sporty driving style contributes to rapid wear of tires.

Attention! The rules prescribe the use of tires up to a tread depth of 1.6 mm around the entire circumference. It is recommended to replace tires already at a tread depth of 2.0 mm.

If the tread depth approaches the minimum allowable value, the tire should be replaced.

Please note: M+S tyres only have sufficient grip on sticky mud and snow if the tread depth is at least 4 mm.

Attention! Check the tires at the cuts and determine the depth of the cuts with a small screwdriver. If the cut reaches the cord, the steel cord is corroded due to penetrating water. The working surface comes away from the cord. Therefore, if the cuts are deep, the tire should be replaced.
