Removal and installation the rear final drive oil temperature sensor



Caution: Hot final drive oil can cause various burns. Allow the rear final drive to cool before servicing.


1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2. Disconnect the rear final drive oil temperature sensor connector.

3. Remove the rear final drive oil temperature sensor.

3. Remove the rear final drive oil temperature sensor.


4. Apply final drive oil to the sensor O-ring.

5. Install the rear final drive oil temperature sensor and tighten to 13-17 Nm.

6. Connect the rear final drive oil temperature sensor connector.

2. Disconnect the connector and remove the rear final drive oil temperature sensor.

3. Place the sensor in a plastic bag and immerse it in a container of water. Gradually heating the water in the container, measure the resistance between terminals A and B of the rear final drive oil temperature sensor. If the measured value is not normal, check the condition of the sensor wires. If the wires are normal, replace the rear final drive oil temperature sensor with a new one.

4. Install the rear final drive oil temperature sensor and connect the connector.

5. Connect the negative battery terminal.
