Checking the EGI water temperature sensor
1. Remove the rubber boot from the wiring connector on the water temperature sensor (photo).

2. Start the engine and warm it up to normal temperature, then let it idle.

3. Using a voltmeter, check for approximately 0.5 volts between the LR terminal and ground.
4. To check the operation of the sensor, drain the liquid from the cooling system, disconnect the electrical wiring and unscrew the block. Place the block in a container of water and attach an ohmmeter to the clamps. Heat the water and measure the temperature using a thermometer. At 20°C, the resistance should be between 2210 and 2690 ohms. At 80°C, the resistance should be between 290 and 354 ohms.
5. Replace the sensor if it is faulty.
6. Assembly is carried out in the reverse order, and at the same time refill the cooling system as described in Section 1.
