1. Hose.
2. All-wheel drive solenoid connector.
3. Rear final drive oil temperature sensor connector.
4. Rear final drive assembly.
5. Coupling sleeve.
6. Washer.
7. Rear final drive mounting bracket.
8. Breather.
9. Rear final drive.
Attention. When replacing the coupling, read the special character string before installing the new coupling and write it in the all-wheel drive control unit after replacement. The special character string is located at two points on the coupling (see picture).
Caution: Performing the following procedure without first removing the front ABS wheel sensor may cause an accidental open circuit in the wiring harness. Disconnect the front ABS wheel sensor wiring harness before performing the following procedures (from the drive shaft side) and secure the wiring in a suitable location where it will not be accidentally touched when servicing the vehicle.
1. Drain the rear final drive oil into a suitable container.
2. Remove the propeller shaft (see the relevant section above in this chapter).
3. Remove the three-way catalytic converter (see chapter "Intake and exhaust system").
4. Remove the rear drive shafts (see the relevant section above in this chapter).
5. Disconnect all hoses and connectors from the rear final drive.
6. Support the rear final drive assembly with a jack.
7. Loosen the rear final drive mounting bracket bolt and turn the bracket as shown in the figure.
8. Turn the rear final drive as shown in the figure and remove the rear final drive assembly from the vehicle.
9. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:
Caution: If the rear final drive mounting bracket nuts are loose, tighten the mounting bracket studs.
Tighten the rear final drive mounting bracket threaded studs to 30-37 Nm.
10. Fill the rear final drive with oil.
11. Check and, if necessary, adjust the alignment angles of the rear wheels of the vehicle.
