Removal
1. Remove the transmission (Section 7).
2. Remove the transmission drive disc (automatic) or pressure plate, clutch disc and flywheel (mechanical).
3. Remove the seal using a screwdriver (photo).
Turn the seal from the inside to reduce the likelihood of damage to the landing bridge surface
Installation
4. Lubricate the new seal and install it with the tabs facing inward. Press it in slowly, applying pressure carefully and only on the outer edges, until the seal is completely seated in the hole (photo).
Lightly tap the outer periphery of the seal with a hammer and punch until the seal is completely seated
5. Install the clutch (Section 8), flywheel or drive plate and torque converter assembly. Use sealant on bolt threads, tighten bolts to Specifications.
6. Install the transmission.
