Components related to the removal and installation of the pallet
1. Anti-rotation stop; 2. Right front wheel; 3. Mudguard; 4. Front exhaust pipe; 5. Pillow of fastening of the engine No. 3; 6. Cover flywheel/torque converter; 7. Pallet
Removing
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Jack up the front of the vehicle and place it securely on axle stands on the jack legs.
3. Drain the engine oil.
4. Remove the anti-rotation stop assembly.
5. Remove the right front wheel and inner fender panel.
6. Disconnect the front exhaust pipe.
7. Engage a suitable hoist and lift the weight of the engine off the number 3 engine mount, unscrew and remove the mount.
8. Remove flywheel/torque converter drive plate cover. Also remove the skid plate.
9. Remove the pan bolts.
10. Lift the front of the engine and break the oil pan gasket seal by inserting a screwdriver between the pan and block.
11. Turn the front edge of the sump to the left and remove it from the engine.
12. Wash the pan thoroughly in solvent.
13. Clean the contact surfaces of the sump and engine block.
Installation
14. If a gasket is not being used, apply a 5mm bead of RTV-type sealant to the contact surface of the sump. If a gasket is used, apply sealant to the areas shown in the illustration.
If a pan gasket is used, coat the shaded area with sealant
15. Place the pallet in place and install the mounting bolt. Tighten the bolt with the specified torque specification.
16. Assembly is carried out in the reverse order.
17. After installation, fill the engine with the amount and grade of oil specified in the Specifications, start the engine and check for leaks.
