Replacing the side oil seals of the rear final drive
1. Remove the drain plug and drain the oil into a suitable container.
2. Install the drain plug with a new washer and tighten to 40-53 Nm.
3. Remove the rear drive shaft (see relevant section earlier in this chapter).
4. Remove the retaining ring from the drive shaft.
Attention. Wrap a cloth around the tip of the screwdriver to prevent damage to the rear final drive housing.
5. Using a screwdriver, remove the oil seal from the rear final drive housing.
6. Apply reverse final drive oil to the lip of the new oil seal.
Note: Install the oil seal in the rear final drive housing without distortion.
7. Using a suitable mandrel and a hammer, press a new oil seal into the rear final drive housing.
8. After installing a new fixing ring, insert the drive shaft into the rear final drive.
9. Make sure the drive shaft is secure by pulling it out by hand.
10. Fill oil into the rear final drive.
11. After filling the oil, install the filler plug with a new washer and tighten to 40-53 Nm.
Coupling gland replacement
1. Drain the rear final drive oil into a suitable container.
2. Remove the coupler (see related section below).
3. Remove the oil seal from the rear final drive housing using a screwdriver or similar tool.
4. Apply rear final drive oil to the lip of the new oil seal.
5. Install a new oil seal in the rear final drive housing using a suitable drift and a hammer.
6. Install the coupling.
7. Fill oil into the rear final drive.
