Replacing the side seals of the rear main gear
1. Remove the drain plug and drain the oil into a suitable container.
2. Install the drain plug with a new washer and tighten to 40-53 Nm.
3. Remove the rear drive shaft (see the relevant section above in this chapter).
4. Remove the retaining ring from the drive shaft.
Caution: Wrap the tip of the screwdriver with cloth to prevent damage to the rear final drive housing.
5. Using a screwdriver, remove the oil seal from the rear final drive housing.

6. Apply rear final drive oil to the lips of the new seal.
Note: Install the oil seal into the rear final drive housing without distorting it.
7. Using a suitable drift and hammer, press the new seal into the rear final drive housing.

8. After installing the new retaining ring, insert the drive shaft into the rear final drive.
9. Make sure the drive shaft is securely locked by pulling it outward by hand.
10. Fill the rear final drive with oil.
11. After filling the oil, install the filler plug with a new washer and tighten to a torque of 40-53 Nm.

Replacing the coupling seal
1. Drain the rear final drive oil into a suitable container.
2. Remove the coupling sleeve (see the relevant section below).
3. Remove the oil seal from the rear final drive housing using a screwdriver or similar tool.
4. Apply rear final drive oil to the lips of the new seal.
5. Install the new oil seal into the rear final drive housing using a suitable drift and hammer.

6. Install the coupling.
7. Fill the rear final drive with oil.
