Visual Check for Density
Leaks can be in the following places:
- Joint between engine and gearbox (flywheel and gearbox input shaft seals).
- Oil fill/drain bolts.
- The junction of the drive shaft and gearbox.
When looking for leaks, proceed as follows:
Clean the gearbox housing with a chemical cleaner.
Check oil level and top up if necessary.
Sprinkle potential leaks with talcum or chalk powder.
Take a control trip. At the same time, in order for the oil to become fluid, you need to drive at least 30 km at high speed.
Raise and support the car, use a portable lamp to examine the leaks.
Eliminate the causes of leaks.
