Install the cylinder head gasket.
Install the cylinder head, insert the mounting bolts with washers on them into the head holes.
Tighten them to a torque of 7.7-8.3 kgf·m in the order shown in the photo.
Install the cylinder head cover.
Connect the coolant temperature sensor connectors.

Connect the ignition distributor sensor connector.
Screw the spark plugs into the cylinder head sockets, install the cover on the ignition distributor sensor and connect the spark plug wires.
On carburetor engines, connect the hoses to the fuel pump; on fuel-injected engines, connect them to the fuel rail and fuel pressure regulator.
Install the intake manifold.
On fuel injected engines, connect the air and vacuum hoses to the throttle body.
Connect the connectors on the carburetor or on the injection system units.
Connect the throttle control cable.
On vehicles with a B6 EGI engine, install a turbocharger.
On B3, B5, B6 engines, connect the exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold; on the B6 EGI engine, connect it to the turbocharger.
On vehicles with a V6 EGI engine, place a lifting device over the engine and hook the cable to the lifting eye on the timing drive side. Remove the upper engine mount bracket.
Connect the cooling system hoses.
Fill the cooling system with liquid.
Install the timing belt.
