Attention! There are radio receivers with a code number on sale. After each connection of the receiver, a certain code must be set, otherwise the receiver will not work, the code serves to protect against theft. If the receiver is coded, before disconnecting the battery or removing the receiver, you should determine the security code. If the code is unknown, only the manufacturer can turn on the receiver. In most cases, the individual code is in the radio receiver passport. The passport should not be kept in the car.

1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery.

Warning! This will erase the engine fault memory or the radio security code. Before disconnecting the battery, read the instructions in Section Removal and installation the battery.

2. Depending on equipment: Remove the center console, see Chapter Body, car painting, car care, Chapter Instrument panel/middle console.

3. Remove cover "1".

3. Remove cover «1».

4. Unscrew the radio and the mount. Remove the radio evenly without tilting it.

5. Unscrew the ground cable from the back of the radio.

6. Disconnect the antenna and speaker plugs, disconnect the multi-pin power plug. If the receiver is not connected with serial wires, mark the wires before disconnecting so as not to mix them up during installation.

Installation

1. Connect the plugs to the back of the radio.

2. Insert the receiver into the instrument panel and screw it in place.

3. Install the receiver cover and/or center console, see Chapter Body, car painting, car care, Chapter Instrument panel/middle console.

4. Connect the ground cable to the battery.

5. Turn on the receiver and check its operation. If the receiver is coded, enter the security code first.

6. Set the time on the clock.

Instructions for additional installation of a radio receiver

Caution! If a non-serial power cable is used, make sure that there are no loose, uninsulated ends. Otherwise, a short circuit may occur, leading to the cables burning out.

  • Please note that only the standard interference suppression kit can be used. There are interference suppression kits available specifically for MAZDA.
