Checking the clutch fluid level (Mazda Familia BG)

Depending on the model and version, the MAZDA 323 may have a separate reservoir for the clutch fluid. The expansion tank is located in the engine compartment next to the brake booster. The cover has a vent that must not be clogged. The expansion tank is made of transparent material, so that the fluid level can be checked from the outside at any time. It is recommended to take a look at the expansion tank every 4 weeks. If fluid needs to be topped up, use brake fluid of the specification SAE J 1703, or DOT 4.



1. Check that the fluid level is between the minimum and maximum marks. If the level has dropped below the minimum mark, check the hydraulic system for leaks and replace the corresponding element if necessary. If the system is leaky, the clutch slave disk is worn, see Section Removal and installation/checking of the clutch.
