Depending on the model and version, the MAZDA 323 may have a separate clutch fluid reservoir. The compensation tank is located in the engine compartment next to the brake booster. The lid has an air vent that must not be blocked. The compensation tank is made of transparent material, so that the liquid level can be checked from the outside at any time. It is recommended to take a look at the expansion tank every 4 weeks. If fluid needs to be topped up, use specification brake fluid SAE J 1703, or DOT 4.
1. Check that the fluid level is between the minimum and maximum marks. If the level has dropped below the minimum mark, check the tightness of the hydraulic system, if necessary, replace the corresponding element. If the system is tight, then the clutch disc is worn out, see Section Removing and installing/checking the clutch.
