Removing
Remove the timing chain drive.
Remove the piping and EGR valve bracket
Remove the front heated oxygen sensor
Remove the accelerator cable and bracket
Remove the fuel supply hose and fuel injector harness
Remove air hose, throttle body and intake manifold
Disconnect the following items:
- heated rear oxygen sensor connector;
- main muffler.
Remove the three way catalytic converter.
Remove the upper radiator hose.
Remove the heater radiator hose.

Loosen the camshaft bearing cap bolts in 2-3 passes in the order shown in the figure (pic. 2.271).
Remove the camshaft bearing caps.

Loosen the cylinder head mounting bolts in 2–3 passes in the order shown in Figure 2.272 and remove them.
Installation

Measure the length of each cylinder head bolt (pic. 2.273).
If the bolt length exceeds the maximum value, replace the cylinder head bolt.
- Standard L: 128.9-129.5 mm.
- Maximum L: 130.2 mm.
Pic. 2.274. The order of tightening the cylinder head bolts
Tighten bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders in three receptions in the order shown in drawing 2.274.
- Tightening torque: 17.5 - 22.5 Nm.
- Angle tension: 85°-95°.
