Removal and installation the automatic drive belt tensioner (Mazda CX-5KE)

Removal

1. Remove the decorative engine cover.

2. Loosen the wiring harness protection bolt and move the wiring harness to the side.



3. Loosen the bolts securing the automatic drive belt tensioner.



4. Remove the automatic tensioner of the accessory drive belt.

Installation

Caution: To ensure proper operation of the automatic drive belt tensioner, it is essential to bleed the tensioner.

Install the automatic accessory drive belt tensioner onto the engine.

Caution: To prevent damage to the automatic drive belt tensioner, do not apply excessive force after turning the tensioner to the stop.

2. Insert the key into the Allen key of the automatic tensioner and squeeze and release the automatic tensioner from stop to stop three times.

Note: As the automatic tensioner is compressed/uncompressed from stop to stop, the piston inside the tensioner moves, forcing air out.

3. Install the wire harness in place and secure the wire harness guard with a bolt.

4. Install the decorative engine cover.
