Checking the Shift Lock Solenoid
Note. The shift lock solenoid is built into the selector lever assembly.
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the front console.
3. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
4. Make sure that the voltage of the selector lever connector terminals corresponds to the values indicated in the table.
5. If the voltage does not match the values given in the table, it is necessary to repair or replace the corresponding wiring.
6. If the voltage corresponds to the values given in the table, replace the selector lever assembly with a new one.
Checking the shift lock cancel button
1. Turn off the ignition.
2. Make sure that the selector lever is in position P.
3. Without pressing the brake pedal, make sure that the selector lever does not switch from position P.
4. Using a flat-blade screwdriver wrapped with electrical tape, remove the shift lock override button cover.
5. Insert a flathead screwdriver into the lock release button and press down.
6. Make sure that the selector lever can be switched from position P. If this is not the case, it is necessary to replace the selector lever with a new one.
