The engine has a combined lubrication system (under pressure and splashing).

Oil pump

The gear type oil pump with internal engagement is driven by the crankshaft. The oil pump housing also serves as the front cover of the cylinder block.

Oil pressure in the system at a crankshaft speed of 3000 rpm, kgf/cm²: 3.5-4.5.

Gap between gear tooth tips, mm:
  • nominal: 0.02-0.16;
  • maximum allowable wear: 0.20.

Clearance between driven gear and oil pump housing walls, mm:
  • nominal: 0.09-0.18;
  • maximum allowable wear: 0.22.

Axial clearance of gears, mm:
  • nominal: 0.03-0.11;
  • maximum allowable wear: 0.14.

Oil pressure sensor

Sensor response pressure, not less than, kg/cm²: 0.3.

Oil filter

Oil filter with replaceable filter element and built-in bypass valve.

Brand: Tokyo Roki Co.

Motor oil

Lubrication system capacity, l:
  • engines B3, B5 and B6: 3.4 (including 0.4 l in the oil filter);
  • engine B6 EGI: 3.6 (including 0.4 l in the oil filter).

Oil used: SAE 20 W 40 or 20 W 50; API SD, SE or SF.

Oil change interval: every 7500 km (every 5000 km for vehicles with turbocharged engines).

Oil filter replacement frequency: every 15,000 km (every 10,000 km for vehicles with turbocharged engines).
