The SAE designation indicates the viscosity of the engine oil, for example, SAE 10W40:
- 10 - viscosity of the oil in a cold state. The lower this number, the thinner the engine oil will be at low temperatures.
- W - engine oil can be used in winter.
- 40 is the viscosity of the hot oil. The higher this number, the thicker the oil will be at high temperatures.
Synthetic oils are all-season motor oils that, among other things, have anti-friction additives that reduce friction inside the engine. Purely synthetic oils are used as the basis for such oils.
Additional lubricants must not be mixed with fuel or other types of oils.
