Assembly of the primary shaft of the gearbox type "F"



Press the inner bearing rings onto the shafts using a mandrel.

Assembly of the secondary shaft of the gearbox type "F"



Press the inner race of the front bearing with a mandrel.

Install the 1st gear pinion and the 1st gear synchronizer ring.

Press on the hub assembly with the sliding sleeve of the synchronizer of the 1st and 2nd gears.

Install the hub retaining ring of the 1st and 2nd gear synchronizer and the locking ring of the 2nd gear synchronizer.

Install the 2nd gear pinion and thrust half rings.

Install the thrust ring, 3rd gear pinion and 3rd gear synchronizer locking ring.

Press on the hub with the sliding sleeve of the synchronizer of III and IV gears.

Put on the III and IV gear synchronizer hub retaining ring, the synchronizer locking ring and the IV gear.

Press the inner race of the rear bearing with a mandrel.

Press the inner race of the front bearing until it stops.

Put on the 1st gear.

Install the 1st gear synchronizer locking ring onto the 1st and 2nd gear synchronizer hub.

Press on the hub assembly with the sliding sleeve of the synchronizer of the 1st and 2nd gears.

Install the synchronizer hub retaining ring, the 2nd gear synchronizer locking ring and the 2nd gear pinion.

Press on the 3rd gear pinion.

Install the 3rd gear retaining ring.

Press the 4th gear pinion and the inner race of the rear bearing until they stop.

Measure the axial clearance of the 2nd gear pinion using a set of feeler gauges, inserting the feeler gauges between the 1st and 2nd gear pinions.

Measure the axial clearance of the 1st gear pinion using a set of feeler gauges, inserting the feeler gauges between the 1st gear pinion and the inner ring of the bearing.



Assemble the gearbox in the reverse order of disassembly, taking into account the following:
  • on type "F" gearboxes, check the runout of the primary and secondary shafts and the clearance between the gear shift forks and synchronizer clutches;
  • before connecting the clutch and gearbox housings, apply a thin layer of sealing mastic to their mating surfaces.
