- Brake fluid is poisonous. Under no circumstances should brake fluid be sucked out through the hose by mouth. Pour brake fluid into containers designed exclusively for it.
- Brake fluid is corrosive and must therefore not come into contact with paintwork, wipe off immediately if necessary and wash off with plenty of water.
- Brake fluid is hygroscopic, which means it absorbs moisture from the air. Therefore, brake fluid must be stored in a closed container.
- Brake fluid that has already been used in the system should not be refilled. Also, when pumping, add only fresh brake fluid.
- Brake Fluid Specification: FMVSS 116 DOT 3 or SAE J1703.
- Brake fluid must not come into contact with grease and mineral oil. Even slight traces of mineral oil make the brake fluid unusable or lead to failure of the brake system.
- Brake fluid should be changed every 2 years, if possible after the end of the winter season.
- Old brake fluid should be taken to special points, not drained into the sewer. Do not mix brake fluid with engine oil.
