Removing
1. Remove the brake pads.
2. For disc rear brakes only: Fully loosen the handbrake cable and disconnect the cable from the caliper.
3. If the caliper needs to be removed completely, unscrew the brake hose on the caliper.
Attention! Brake fluid will leak. It should be collected in a specially designed bottle. After installation, the brake system must be pumped.
4. If the brake hose remains connected, hang the upper part of the caliper by the wire to the body so that the brake hose is not twisted and is not under tension.
5. Unscrew the caliper from the steering knuckle (2 bolts).
Installation
1. Install the caliper and tighten both mounting bolts with force 50 Nm.
Attention! If the brake hose has been removed, screw it back on. The brake hose must not be twisted during installation. Fit new gaskets, tighten the bolt to 30 Nm.
2. Install the brake pads.
3. If the system has been opened, it must be vented, see Section Bleeding the brake system.
4. For the rear caliper: Connect the handbrake cable.
5. Fit the brake pads, see relevant chapter.
Attention! Depress the brake pedal several times until a noticeable resistance is felt. This sets the parking brake adjuster.
6. Rear disc brakes: Adjust handbrake, see Section Handbrake adjustment.
