Note. Air from the hydraulic brake drive must be removed every time the brake system pipes have been disconnected.
If the hydraulic line is disconnected from the master cylinder, bleed from the slave cylinder farthest from the master cylinder and proceed to the next furthest slave cylinder until all four cylinders have been bled.
If the disconnect point is anywhere other than the master cylinder, bleed should begin at the point closest to the disconnect point and proceed to the next closest slave cylinder until all four cylinders have been bled.
Remove the vent cap and attach a vinyl pipe to the vent.
Place the other end of the vinyl pipe in a clear, liquid-filled container.
One person must depress the brake pedal several times and then hold it down.
Pic. 6.9. Loosen air vent
A second person must loosen the air bleeder, drain the fluid and tighten the bleeder using the special tool (pic. 6.9).
- Tightening torque - front wheels: 9.8 Nm.
- Tightening torque - rear wheels: 8.8 Nm.
Repeat the pumping operation until the exit of air bubbles from the tube stops.
Remove air from each assembly as described above.
After removing the air, check the following:
- brake action;
- fluid leakage;
- liquid level.
