Warning: A hot engine can cause burns. Before starting work, turn off the engine and wait until it cools down.
Note: Removal / installation of drive belts is carried out from underneath the vehicle.
Removal / installing the alternator drive belt
Caution: To prevent damage to the automatic drive belt tensioner, do not apply excessive force after turning the tensioner to the stop.
1. Remove the mudguard.
2. Insert the key into the Allen key of the automatic drive belt tensioner and loosen the tension by slowly turning it in the direction of the arrow in the figure.

3. Remove the generator drive belt.
4. Install the generator drive belt.
5. Turn the crankshaft pulley clockwise about half a turn to ensure that the alternator drive belt is installed correctly. If the ribs of the drive belt and the grooves of the pulleys do not match, remove the drive belt and reinstall it.
6. Make sure that the hexagon pointer on the automatic drive belt tensioner is within the normal range.
7. Install the mudguard.
Removal/installing the water pump drive belt
Removal
1. Remove the alternator drive belt (see above).
2. Place a clean cloth on the water pump drive belt as shown in the figure.

3. Pull the cloth in the direction of the arrow and turn the crankshaft pulley clockwise to remove the edge of the drive belt from the groove of the water pump pulley.

Caution: To prevent damage to the drive belt, do not stop the crankshaft pulley from rotating while performing the removal procedure (with fabric inserted between the drive belt and the water pump pulley).
4. Remove the water pump drive belt.
Installation
1. Install one side of the water pump drive belt into the groove of the crankshaft pulley.
2. Install the other side of the water pump drive belt into the groove of the water pump pulley, which has a smaller diameter.

Caution: Be careful not to get your fingers caught between the drive belt and pulley when performing this procedure. Wearing gloves may cause your fingers to get caught between the drive belt and pulley - do not use cotton work gloves when installing the water pump drive belt.
3. Move the drive belt from the circumference of the smaller pulley to the groove of the larger water pump pulley and turn the crankshaft pulley clockwise.

Caution: To prevent damage to the drive belt, do not stop the crankshaft pulley from turning when shifting the drive belt from the smaller water pump pulley to the larger one.
4. After installing the drive belt, rotate the crankshaft pulley approximately half a turn to ensure that the water pump drive belt is installed correctly. If the edge of the drive belt and the groove of the pulley do not match, remove the drive belt and reinstall it.
5. Install the generator drive belt.
