Attention.
- Performing the following procedure without first removing the front ABS wheel sensor may cause an accidental open circuit in the wiring. Disconnect the front ABS wheel sensor wiring before performing the following procedures (from the drive shaft side) and secure the wiring in a suitable location where it will not be accidentally touched when servicing the vehicle.
- Fix the steering wheel with tape or wire to prevent the steering shaft from turning after disconnecting. If the steering wheel is turned after the steering shaft is disconnected from the steering gear, the internal parts of the contact disk may be damaged.
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the propeller shaft.
3. Remove the front subframe assembly.
4. Versions with petrol engines: remove the exhaust manifold with the three-way catalytic converter.
5. Remove the right front drive shaft.
6. Diesel versions: Remove the turbocharger bracket.
7. Remove the heat shield.

7. Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the transfer case from the vehicle.
1. Transfer case bracket.
2. Transfer case.
8. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Note: Transfer case bracket bolts should be tightened in sequence B, A and C to 38-52 Nm.

9. Warm up the engine and gearbox, then check for oil leaks and the operation of the transfer case.
