Removal and installation the radiator (Mazda CX-5KE)

Attention: Observe safety precautions when working with the engine cooling system.


1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2. Remove the front engine oil pan No.1.

3. Drain the coolant.

4. Remove the decorative engine cover.

5. Remove the air filter with hoses and air intake.

6. Remove the expansion tank of the cooling system.

7. Remove the radiator fan.

8. Remove the lower radiator hose.

2. Upper radiator mounting brackets.
3. Radiator.


Caution: To prevent damage to the hooks of the upper radiator mounting supports, do not apply excessive force to them.


9. While lightly pressing the hook of the upper radiator mounting support in the direction of the arrow in the figure, remove the upper radiator mounting bracket towards the rear of the vehicle.

Note: To prevent damage to the radiator fins, cover the radiator with cardboard.




10. Lift the radiator and remove it from the mounting holes of the casing panel.

11. Move the radiator with the condenser towards the engine.

12. Unscrew two bolts (from the bottom side) fastening the capacitor to the radiator.

13. Unscrew two bolts (from the top side) fastening the capacitor to the radiator.

14. Remove the radiator upwards from the engine compartment.

15. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
