Removing
Raise and support the vehicle. Loosen the bolts and remove the lower radiator shroud.
Removing only the radiator
Drain the coolant from the radiator using the bolt at the bottom of the radiator.
Cars with air conditioning: unscrew the bolts securing the condenser to the radiator and hang the condenser on the body with a wire.
Precautions: The refrigerant line in the air conditioner must not be opened. If refrigerant comes in contact with skin, it may cause frostbite.
Remove the plug from the fan and pull the wire out of the guides. If so, remove the plug from the thermal switch at the bottom left of the radiator. Disconnect the plug from the holder on the radiator (see picture).
Remove the coolant hoses from the radiator at the top and bottom, after releasing the clamps.
For models with automatic transmission only: unscrew the oil lines for the ATF cooler from the cooler and plug open connections to avoid loss of ATF.
Attention: When disconnecting the oil lines, liquid will flow out, so you need to substitute a container for draining. Clean the connections before loosening the nuts so that dirt does not get into the ATF.
Support the radiator with a jack with a wooden lining; unscrew the four radiator mounting bolts on the right and left.
Models with automatic transmission: when the fan must be removed separately, unscrew the bolt in place (A). Move the oil cooler for the automatic transmission to the side (1), and then down (2), so as not to kink the pipes. Hang the oil cooler on the body with a wire.
Removing the fan separately
Pull the fan down out of the vehicle. The fastening is held at the top in the recesses by means of two rubber supports.
Pull the radiator together with the fan down out of the car.
If necessary, unscrew the three screws and remove the fan from the holder.
Installation
Place the fan on the holder and fasten with screws.
Check the rubber bushings on the radiator for damage and replace if necessary.
Insert the heatsink together with the fan from below, so that the fastening protrusions fit into the corresponding recesses at the top.
If the fan was removed separately, then insert the fan with holder, paying attention to the correct engagement of the upper projections in the recesses.
For models with air conditioning, install the condenser in front of the radiator and tighten the mounting bolts to 15 Nm.
Tighten crosshead bolts (cross beam) at the bottom of the radiator with a torque of 25 Nm.
Note: Reinforce the cable on the left side «masses» bolt.
Install and bolt the cover under the radiator.
Lower the car.
Put on the upper and lower radiator hoses and secure them with clamps.
Pour coolant into the system.
If equipped, install oil cooler and connections for automatic transmission. Finally, check the fluid level in the gearbox.
Put the plug on the fan, insert the wire into the holder. Connect the thermal switch and secure the plug in the holder.
Connect the negative cable to the battery. Set the clock and enter the required codes..
Start the engine and warm it up at idle until the fan turns on. Check cooling system for leaks.
Check the coolant level again and top up if necessary.
