Attention. Observe safety measures when working with the engine cooling system.
Removing the thermostat
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Drain the coolant from the engine.
3. Remove the decorative engine cover.
4. Remove the air filter with hoses and air intake.
5. Remove the battery with the shelf and the engine control unit.
6. Disconnect the lower radiator hose from the thermostat cover side.
Versions with petrol engines:
1. Lower radiator hose.
2. Thermostat cover.
3. Thermostat.
Versions with diesel engines:
1. Lower radiator hose.
2. Thermostat cover.
3. Thermostat.
7. Spread a rag around the area under the thermostat cover.
8. Loosen the three bolts of the thermostat cover and use a rag to collect the escaping coolant.
Attention. Do not remove the thermostat cover completely at once, as the remaining coolant will leak out of the engine.
9. After the coolant stops flowing, remove the thermostat cover from the engine.
10. Remove the thermostat.
Installing a thermostat
1. Installation is made in an order, the return to removal.
Note: The thermostat float valve must align with the groove in the cooling system outlet when installed.

2. Fill the system with coolant.
3. Check the tightness of the cooling system.
