Removing
1. If necessary, remove the side upholstery in the cabin to get to the upper bolts of the suspension strut.
2. Loosen the wheel nuts of the car standing on the ground.
3. Change the position of the wheel disk relative to the hub so that the balanced wheel can be installed in its previous position.
4. Raise the rear of the car.
5. Remove the wheel.
6. Four-wheel drive only: Unscrew the bolt -A- that secures the trailing arm to the suspension beam. Then loosen bolt -B- without unscrewing. If fitted, additionally unscrew the air hose for the ride height adjustment on the shock absorber from above.
7. Remove bracket -1- and release the brake hose from the holder on the spring strut.
Attention! Do not unscrew the brake hose.
8. Support the suspension beam with a support or hydraulic lift so that it does not fall down when the suspension strut is loosened.
9. Unscrew 2 nuts -2- of the suspension strut on the suspension beam, remove the bolts -3-.
10. Unscrew the 2 nuts on the upper suspension strut support and remove the suspension strut -5-.
11. If necessary, disassemble the suspension strut, see Chapter Disassembly of the rear suspension strut / removal and installation of the shock absorber / coil spring.
Installation
1. Insert the suspension strut, tighten the 2 upper nuts with force 30 Nm.
2. Insert 2 suspension strut bolts on the beam from front to back, tighten the nuts with force 110 Nm.
3. Remove the lift from under the beam.
4. Attach the brake hose to the suspension strut.
5. All-wheel drive only: Tighten bolts -A- and -B- 70 Nm. If fitted with ride height adjustment, screw the air hose on top of the shock absorber firmly 20 Nm.
6. Screw on the wheel, taking into account the mark on the hub. Lower the vehicle and tighten the wheel nuts crosswise with force 100 Nm.
7. If removed, install inner trim over shock strut.
8. Measure the wheel alignment angles.
