V-belt alternator and water pump
1. Loosen the adjusting screw and the mounting bolt.
2. Tilt the alternator towards the engine and remove the V-belt.
3. Fit new belt and tighten nut and set screw.
4. Check tension between alternator and water pump pulleys -arrow-. When exposed to a force of 100 N (10 kg), which roughly corresponds to thumb pressure, measure the deflection of the belt, see the table for the required values.
Engine designation | deflection in mm | |
new belt | used belt | |
E1, E3, E5 | 12 — 13 | 13 — 14 |
VZ, V5, V6 | 8 — 9 | 9 — 10 |
PN (Diesel) | 9 — 10 | 10 — 10, 5 |
5. Screw the adjusting bolt firmly 25 Nm, fastening bolt with force 50 Nm.
Servo pump V-belt (Gas engine)
1. Loosen the lock nut and mounting bolt.
2. Turn the adjusting bolt so that the V-belt can be removed. Remove V-belt.
3. Apply the V-belt and adjust the tension with the bolt.
4. Check tension between crankshaft pulleys and power steering oil pump -arrow-. When exposed to a force of 100 N (10 kg), which roughly corresponds to pressing the thumb, new the belt should flex 8-9 mm, used strap on 9-10 mm.
5. Tighten the lock nut firmly 25 Nm, fastening bolt with force 45 Nm.
V-belt for servo pump and air conditioner compressor (Gas engine)
1. Loosen the lock nut and mounting bolt.
2. Turn the adjusting bolt so that the V-belt can be removed. Remove belt.
3. Install a new belt and adjust the tension with the adjusting bolt.
4. Check tension between crankshaft pulleys and power steering oil pump -arrow-. When exposed to a force of 100 N (10 kg), which roughly corresponds to thumb pressure, the new belt should flex by 8-9 mm, used strap on 9-10 mm.
5. Tighten the lock nut firmly 25 Nm, fastening bolt with force 45 Nm.
