Checking the front shock absorber
1. Remove the front shock absorber.
2. Check for damage and oil leaks.
3. Compress and stretch the shock absorber piston rod at least three times at a constant speed. Starting from the fourth compression stroke, make sure that the working force does not change and that there are no extraneous noises. If any faults are found, replace the front shock absorber with a new one.
Recycling the front shock absorber
Attention. Safety goggles must be used when drilling the front shock absorber. The gas inside the shock absorber is under pressure and drilling can blow metal filings into the eyes and face.
1. Place the shock absorber on a flat surface or piston down.
2. Drill a hole with a diameter of 2-3 mm at distance A (340 mm from edge), shown in the figure to release the gas from the shock absorber.
3. Drill a hole with a diameter of 2-3 mm at a distance B (145 mm from edge), shown in the figure to drain the oil from the shock absorber.
4. Turn the hole made in step 3 down and drain the oil by squeezing and unclenching the shock piston rod several times.
5. Cut off the lower edge of the shock absorber.
6. Dispose of the drained oil in accordance with the rules for the disposal of fuels and lubricants.
