Note. Checking the elements of the injection system is carried out using a pressure gauge with a scale up to 9 kg/cm2; beakers with a capacity of up to 100 cm3 for measuring the amount of gasoline and an electrical connector with two clamps.
Checking the fuel supply pressure of the fuel pump
Disconnect the wire from the negative battery terminal.
Disconnect the fuel outlet hose from the fuel filter and connect the hose fitting connected to the pressure gauge to the filter nozzle.
Shunt the fuel pump enable relay with a wire.
Connect the wire to the negative terminal of the battery.
Turn on the ignition and measure the pressure of the fuel supply by the pump with a pressure gauge, which should be within the range of 4.5-6.0 kg / cm2.
In case of deviation from the norm, check the technical condition of the fuel filter and fuel pump.
Checking the Fuel Pressure Regulator
Disconnect the wire from the negative battery terminal.
Disconnect the fuel outlet hose from the fuel filter and attach a tee to the opening of the hose and branch pipe, then attach a pressure gauge to the tee.
Connect the wire to the negative terminal of the battery.
Start the engine and measure the fuel pressure in the system at idle with a manometer, which must correspond to the values specified in subsection «Detailed Specifications».
Disconnect the vacuum hose from the pressure regulator and plug the hose opening.
Measure the fuel pressure in the system at idle, which must correspond to the values specified in subsection «Detailed Specifications».
If abnormal, replace the pressure regulator.
Disconnect the pressure gauge, tee and attach the fuel outlet hose to the fuel filter.
Checking the throughput of injectors
Disconnect the wire from the negative battery terminal.
Remove the distribution line with injectors without disconnecting the supply and drain pipes.
Wire the nozzles to the distribution line.
Disconnect the injector connectors.
Connect the wire to the negative terminal of the battery and turn on the ignition.
Shunt the fuel pump relay with a wire.
Make sure the injectors are tight.
Switch off the ignition.
Connect the block of the tested injector with the battery terminals.
Insert the nozzle into the beaker.
Turn on the ignition for 15 seconds.
Switch off the ignition.
Determine the amount of fuel flowing from the injector atomizer into the beaker, and compare the obtained value with the nominal (see subsection «Detailed Specifications»).
