Removal
Unhook the parking brake lever boot and swing it up over the lever.
Loosen the adjusting nut (2) of the parking brake cable.
Mark the position of the rear wheels on the hubs so that you can then install the wheels in their original positions. Loosen the wheel nuts with the car on the ground. Raise and support the car from behind and remove the rear wheels.
Unhook the exhaust system from the rear rubber mounts and support it.

Ford KA: Unscrew the four nuts that secure the front heat shield.

Unscrew the five nuts securing the middle part of the heat-protective casing (Ford KA: four nuts).

Unscrew the three nuts securing the rear part of the heat shield.

Disconnect the front cable from the equalizer bracket (1).
Remove the clamps (2) of the rear parking brake cable.
Pull the rear cables (3) and unhook them from the holder.
Remove the equalizer bracket from the cable nipples (4).

Disconnect the cables from the body (1).
Unscrew the clamp bolts (2).
Disconnect the cables from the rear axle (3).
Remove the brake pads.

Squeeze the parking brake cable clamp (1) with pliers and pull out the parking brake cable (2).
Installation
Route the rear parking brake cable through the brake plate and secure it.
Install brake shoes/brake drum.
Attach the brake cables and secure with bolts.

Attach the brake cables to the equalizer bracket and to the support. Secure the cable bushings to the support.
Attach the front cable to the support.
Install the heat shield and secure it with bolts.
Attach the exhaust system to rubber mounts.
Adjust the parking brake.
