Removing
Unhook the cover of the parking brake lever and fold it up through the lever.
Loosen adjusting nut (2) parking brake cable.
Mark the position of the rear wheels on the hubs, so that you can then install the wheels in their original positions. Loosen the wheel nuts with the vehicle on the ground. Raise and support the vehicle at the rear and remove the rear wheels.
Unhook the exhaust system from the rear rubber hangers and support it.
Ford KA: unscrew the four nuts securing the front heat shield.
Unscrew the five nuts securing the middle part of the heat shield (Ford KA: four nuts).
Unscrew the three nuts securing the rear of the heat shield.
Unhook the front cable from the equalizer bracket (1).
Pull out the clamps (2) rear parking brake cable.
Pull back cables (3) and unhook from the holder.
Remove equalizer bracket from cable nipples (4).
Unhook the cables from the body (1).
Loosen clamp screws (2).
Unhook the cables from the rear axle (3).
Remove brake pads.
Squeeze Clamp (1) parking brake cable with pliers and pull out the parking brake cable (2).
Installation
Pull the rear parking brake cable through the brake plate and secure it.
Install the brake pads/brake drum.
Attach the brake cables and secure with bolts.
Hook the brake cables to the equalizer bracket and to the support. Fasten the cable bushings to the support.
Hook the front cable to the support.
Install the heat shield and secure with screws.
Hook the exhaust system on rubber suspensions. О Adjust the parking brake.
