Ford KA: Replacing Incandescent Bulbs (Mazda 121 (3))

Note: Ford KA models are equipped with H1 lamps with an ultraviolet filter, which can be identified by the letter "i" on the lamp base. H7 lamps must have an ultraviolet filter.


Turn off the corresponding lighting device (headlights, lantern).

Headlight



From the engine compartment, fold up the wire clip (1) on the back of the headlight.

Unhook the cover (2) at the bottom and remove it.

Remove the low beam lamp plug (3).


Remove the low beam lamp plug (3).

Unhook the wire clip (4) and fold it aside.



Remove the lamp (5).

Insert the bulb so that the protrusions on the base fit into the recesses on the headlight.

Remove the high beam lamp plug (6).


Remove the high beam lamp plug (6).

Unhook and fold back the wire clip (7).

Remove the lamp (8).

Insert the bulb so that the protrusions on the base fit into the recesses on the headlight.

Attach the wire bracket and secure the lamp.

Put on the lamp plug.

Remove the bulb holder (9) for the side light.


Remove the bulb holder (9) for the side light.

Remove the bulb from the socket and replace it.

Insert the lamp socket into the headlight housing.

Insert the headlight cover at the bottom into the guide tabs and secure with a wire clip.

Have the headlight adjustment checked at a workshop.

Front direction indicator



Turn the lamp holder (1) to the left and remove it.


Turn the lamp holder (1) to the left and remove it.



Press the bulb lightly into the socket, turn it to the left and remove it.

Press the new bulb lightly into the socket, turn it to the right and secure it.

Insert the lamp holder into the lamp (3), turn it to the right and secure it.

Side direction indicator



The lamp is replaced in the same way as on the models Ford Fiesta/Mazda 121.

Rear lights



From the trunk, squeeze both tabs on the lamp mount (5) (arrows).

Remove the lamp mount.

Lightly press the damaged lamp into the socket, turn it to the left and remove it.

The following lamps are located in the mount:
  • 1 - brake signal;
  • 2 - overall lighting;
  • 3 - direction indicator;
  • 4 - reversing light or rear fog light.

Insert the new bulb into the socket, press it slightly and secure it by turning it to the left.

Insert the socket with the lamp and secure it.

License plate light



The lamp is replaced in the same way as for the models Ford Fiesta/Mazda 121.

Additional brake light



Unscrew the two screws and remove the light.

Press the tabs on the side of the lamp mount outward and remove the lamp mount from the cover.

Press the reflector out of the four clips and pull it out.


Press the reflector out of the four clips and pull it out.



Remove the faulty lamp and replace it.

Secure the reflector.

Insert the lamp mount into the cover.

Secure the lantern with two screws.

Interior lighting



Turn off the flashlight.


Turn off the flashlight.

Pry up the glass of the lantern with a blunt screwdriver, inserting it into the side recess.

Caution: The flashlight may be hot, so use a cloth or gloves when removing it.


Press the cone lamp lightly into the socket, turn it to the left and remove it.

Press the new bulb lightly into the socket, turn it to the right and secure it.

Install the lantern glass.
