The fuel tank is made of sheet steel and is located under the bottom of the car in front of the rear axle. The fuel tank is ventilated using a closed ventilation system. Harmful gasoline vapors are directed by the tank ventilation system into a container with activated carbon, and then they participate in the combustion process.
All petrol models have a safety switch that shuts off the fuel pump in the event of an accident or overload. The switch is located in the driver's footwell on the Ford Fiesta/Mazda 121, and in the front passenger footwell on the side under the trim on the Ford KA. If the power supply is interrupted, this can be determined by the extended power button.
Precautions: If fuel leaks after an accident, the leak location must be identified and eliminated before the device is turned off.
