Start driving immediately after starting the engine, even in cold weather.

When stopping for more than 40 seconds, turn off the engine.

Move in the highest possible gear.

When driving long distances, move at a uniform speed, high enough, if possible. Move smoothly, and if possible, do not brake abruptly.
