1. Before working on the fuel system, disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

Note: Be sure to read diagnostic codes before disconnecting the battery cables.


2. Do not smoke or use open flames when working on the fuel system.

3. Do not allow gasoline to come into contact with rubber or leather objects.

4. When disconnecting the high-pressure fuel line, a large amount of fuel may leak. Therefore, release the fuel pressure beforehand.

a) To reduce the pressure in the fuel tank, open the fuel tank filler cap.

b) Place a container under the unit to be removed. Cover the connection with a rag. Slowly loosen the connection, then disconnect it and drain the remaining fuel into the container.

c) Seal the connection with a rubber plug.
