2. Do not touch moving parts in the engine compartment (e.g. cooling fan, attachment drive belt, etc.).
3. Before performing any work related to the electrical equipment of the car, as well as when replacing any element of electrical equipment, it is necessary to disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery and thereby avoid possible damage caused by a short circuit.
Attention:
- Before disconnecting or connecting a cable to the negative battery terminal, make sure that the light switches and the ignition key are in the "OFF" (REDUC) (if this is not done, then there is a possibility of damage to semiconductor parts).
- All diagnostic codes stored in the electronic control unit are erased when the wire is disconnected from the negative battery terminal. Therefore, it is necessary to read diagnostic codes before disconnecting the battery.
4. When installing the battery, do not reverse the polarity of the wires connected to its terminals.
Attention: after installing the battery, the power wire and wire "masses" must be securely connected to its terminals (pins).
5. When removing and installing parts, do not strike the elements of electronic control systems, especially the electronic control unit.
6. When operating in rainy weather, keep the electronic controls away from water. The same should be done when cleaning the engine compartment (engine wash).
7. Never pull on the wire when disconnecting connectors. Pull out the connector.
A) When disconnecting, loosen the lock by pushing the spring and pull out the connector by holding it by the housing.
b) When connecting, fully insert the connector and make sure it is locked.
8. Do not open the cover or housing of the control units unless absolutely necessary (some pins can be damaged by static electricity).
9. Upon completion of repair work, make sure that all wiring connectors are correctly and securely connected, and wire harnesses are properly secured.
10. Safety precautions when working with the battery.
A) The battery emits flammable and explosive gas:
- Be careful when working with tools that can cause sparks from the battery.
Do not smoke or light matches near the battery.
b) The electrolyte contains toxic and corrosive sulfuric acid:
- Always wear protective goggles when working on the battery.
- Keep children away from the battery.
- Avoid contact of electrolyte with eyes, skin or clothing.
V) If electrolyte is spilled, do the following:
- If electrolyte gets into your eyes, rinse immediately with clean water and seek medical attention. If possible, continue to apply water with a swab or cloth on the way to the health facility.
- If the electrolyte comes into contact with the skin, wash the burnt area thoroughly. If pain or burning is felt, consult a doctor immediately.
- If electrolyte is accidentally swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.
- If electrolyte comes into contact with clothing, it may be skin contact, so immediately remove any clothing that has come into contact with electrolyte.
