Attention. To perform the test drive, you must choose a safe area without heavy traffic.
Note. When performing a road test of an automatic transmission, if the required speed exceeds the limit allowed by the traffic regulations, use a chassis dynamometer.
Preparing for an inspection trip
1. Check engine coolant level.
2. Check engine oil level.
3. Check the automatic transmission fluid level (see related section below).
4. Gasoline engines: Check ignition timing and idle speed.
5. Make sure that there are no trouble codes in the car's memory.
Mode D test
1. Make preparations for the test drive (see above).
2. Warm up the gearbox to operating temperature.
3. Select position D.
4. Check the switching points for position D in normal operation. If failures are found, identify the cause and correct the problem.
While depressing the accelerator pedal, start the vehicle and check that the gear changes from 1 to 2, 2 to 3, 3 to 4, 4 to 5 and 5 to 6. gearshift points.
Switching scheme (position D, normal mode) gearboxes FW6A-EL, FW6AX-EL
Switching scheme (position D, normal mode) gearboxes GW6A-EL, GW6AX-EL
When driving in sixth gear, release the accelerator pedal and make sure that the gears change from 6 to 5, from 5 to 4, from 4 to 3, from 3 to 2, from 2 to 1. In addition, you need to make sure that the speed of movement gearshift points.
Note.
- If the accelerator pedal is fully released quickly, shifting is not performed according to
- given template, since the current transfer can be saved.
- When decelerating by hard depressing the brake pedal, shifting does not occur according to the pattern given because the downshift point may be at a higher speed.
Pressing the accelerator pedal hard (kickdown) in 6th, 5th, 4th, 3rd and 2nd gears, check that the gears shift from 6 to 5, from 5 to 4, from 4 to 3, from 3 to 2 and from 2 on 1. Also, make sure the kickdown speed limit matches the switch point.
Make sure that the shocks from the gear change are minimal, the shift is smooth and fast, without extraneous noise or wedging.
M mode check
1. Make preparations for the test drive (see above).
2. Warm up the gearbox to operating temperature.
3. Select position M.
4. Check the switching points for position M in normal operation. If failures are found, identify the cause and correct the problem.
When shifting gears while driving, make sure the gears change.
Release the accelerator pedal while driving in sixth gear and check that the gear shifts from 6 to 5, from 5 to 4, from 4 to 3, from 3 to 2, from 2 to 1. In addition, you need to make sure that the driving speed gearshift points.
When releasing the accelerator pedal while driving, make sure that engine braking occurs in all gears.
Make sure that the shocks from the gear change are minimal, the shift is smooth and fast, without extraneous noise or wedging.
5. Check the second gear of fixed mode:
With the vehicle stopped or at a speed of 10 km/h or less, move the selector lever to the + side to shift into second gear.
Make sure the second gear is set.
When releasing the accelerator pedal while driving, check that the engine is braking.
When shifting gears while driving, make sure the gears change.
P mode check
1. Stop the car on a gentle slope and move the selector lever to position P.
2. Release the brakes and make sure the vehicle is not moving. If any faults are found, check the parking mechanism in the gearbox.
