Front Wheel Speed Sensors — Checking (Mazda BT-50 (1))

1. Remove the wheel and check the speed sensor for damage. Replace the sensor if necessary.

2. Check the gap between the wheel speed sensor and the sensor rotor as shown in the figure. Adjust the gap if necessary.

• Nominal clearance - 0.3 - 1.1 mm

3. Disconnect the wheel speed and measure the resistance.

• Nominal resistance - 1.2 - 1.6 kOhm

If the resistance is not within the specified range, replace the wheel speed sensor.

4. Check the voltage at the wheel speed sensor connector.

a) Jack it up (install on stands) automobile.

b) Disconnect the wheel speed sensor connector and connect an oscilloscope to it.

c) Check the wheel speed sensor signal waveform.



If the signal shape is distorted or does not match the one shown in the figure, check the wheel speed sensor rotor.
