Note: Carrying out repairs without first removing the ABS wheel speed sensor may damage the sensor wiring. To prevent damage to the sensor or its wiring, remove the wheel speed sensor and secure it to the side before performing major repairs.


1. Remove the parts, referring to the figure "Removing and installing the drive shaft".

2 - drive shaft,
3 - retaining ring.


2. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Insert a lever between the drive shaft and the differential housing. Remove the drive shaft.

Installation Notes



1. Install the retaining ring.

a) Install a new retaining ring on the drive shaft so that the cut side of the ring is facing straight up.

b) Measure the outer diameter of the ring after installing it on the shaft. If the outer diameter of the ring exceeds the established norms, replace the ring.

Outer Diameter:
  • left side - 31.2 mm
  • right side - 33.2 mm

right side - 33.2 mm


2. Install the drive shaft.

Caution: The sharp splines of the drive shaft can damage the front axle gearbox seals. Use caution when installing the drive shaft into the front axle gearbox.
