Examination
1. Check the condition of the hoses and connections.
2. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the carbon filter and connect a vacuum gauge. When the engine is not warmed up and is idling, there should be no vacuum. If vacuum is present, the purge valve is probably defective. Warm up the engine and check for vacuum. If not, replace the purge valve.
3. Check that the two-way valve located near the carbon filter does not allow air to pass through.
4. Check the voltage supply to the purge valve.
5. Check the carbon filter for leakage.
Replacement
Carbon filter
1. Disconnect the hoses from the filter, unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the carbon filter.
2. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Purge valve
3. Disconnect the vacuum hoses from the valve. Loosen the fixing bolt and remove the valve.
4. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
