Examination

1. To check the EGR valve sensor, disconnect the valve connector (arrow) and check the resistance between terminals 1 and 3, 3 and 5, 2 and 4, 4 and 6 on the valve. It should be approximately 22 ohms. If not, replace the valve.

2. Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the valve and connect the vacuum pump. When a vacuum is created, the engine's performance should deteriorate or it may even stall. If not, replace the valve.
3. Check that the solenoid valve changes the direction of air flow when voltage is applied.
Replacing the recirculation valve

1. Disconnect the valve connection connector. Unscrew the recirculation tube and unscrew the mounting bolts (indicated by arrows) and remove the valve.
2. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Use a new gasket.
