For models with 6-cylinder engine
This system consists of two vacuum diaphragms (the first is located near the intake manifold, the second is behind the throttle body), two solenoid valves and three additional throttle valves, two of which are connected together.
Warm up the engine. Open the throttle for a second and check that the vacuum diaphragm links (arrows) moved when the throttle was opened. If not, check the condition of the vacuum hoses.
Vacuum Diaphragms
Examination
Using a vacuum pump, create a vacuum on the vacuum diaphragms. Check that when creating a vacuum on the diaphragm, the diaphragm rod is retracted. If not, replace diaphragm.
Replacement
1. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the diaphragm. Disconnect the rod from the damper, unscrew the fixing bolts and remove the diaphragm.
2. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Solenoid valves
Examination
1. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the valve and blow into port B. Air must flow through the valve (WITH).
2. Apply battery voltage to the valve terminals and blow into port B again. Air should come out of port A. Replace the valve if it is defective.
Replacement
1. Disconnect the vacuum hoses and valve connector. Remove the valve from the mounting bracket.
2. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Vacuum hoses
Examination
The chambers are located under the intake manifold. Remove the chambers and inspect them for cracks or damage.
Replacement
1. Remove the intake manifold.
2. Disconnect the vacuum hoses from the chambers, unscrew the fixing bolts and remove the chambers.
3. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
