Removal and installation
1. Release the pressure in the fuel system.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Drain the fuel from the tank through the drain hole or using a siphon.
4. Disconnect the wires from the fuel pump and fuel gauge sensor.
5. Raise and secure the rear of the vehicle. Remove the exhaust pipe section located behind the catalytic converter.
6. Remove the pressure control valve and fuel tank pressure sensor.
7. Disconnect the fuel supply and return hoses from the metal tubes. Disconnect the filler tube and fuel tank vent hose.
8. Install a jack under the fuel tank.
9. Remove the bolts (arrows) and remove both tank mounting plates.
10. Remove the fuel tank.
11. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Cleaning and repair
All work related to the cleaning and repair of the fuel tank must be carried out by a specialist in a specially equipped workshop.
