Examination
Checking the electronic fuel injection system includes checking the functioning of all its subsystems and elements of subsystems.
1. To check the injectors, start the engine and attach a special stethoscope to each of them. If you hear clicks, then the injector is functioning properly.
2. If the injector does not click, connect a special lamp to the injector wire contacts. If the lamp blinks, then the correct voltage is applied to the injector contacts.
3. Stop the engine, disconnect the wires from the common injector connectors, and measure the resistance of each right cylinder head injector by connecting one of the ohmmeter wires to terminal A and the other in turn to each of the other three terminals.
4. Similarly, measure the resistance of each injector on the left head by connecting one of the ohmmeter wires to pin D and the other in turn to each of the other three pins (1 - left head, 2 - right). Compare your results with the specifications.
5. If necessary, remove the injectors and measure the resistance of the injectors themselves by connecting an ohmmeter to its contacts.
6. Measure the resistance of the injector wires.
