Removing
Mark the position of the rear wheels in relation to the hub so that the balanced wheels can then be returned to their original positions. Loosen the wheel nuts while the vehicle is on the ground. Support rear and remove rear wheels.
Caution: Raise the vehicle only when it is unloaded.
Place a floor jack under the rear axle and raise it slightly to relieve the dampers.
Loosen the bottom bolt (1) shock absorber and pull it out, tapping it with a soft-faced hammer if necessary.
Loosen the top screw (2) and remove shock absorber.
Installation
Insert the shock absorber and tighten the bolts of its fastenings by hand, while not tightening them.
Remove rear axle support (jack).
Install the rear wheels in accordance with the marks made earlier. Before doing this, lightly lubricate the hub seat on the wheel rim with grease. Do not lubricate the threads of the wheel studs. Tighten the wheel nuts. Lower the vehicle and tighten the wheel nuts crosswise to 90 Nm.
Tighten the shock absorber upper bolt to 120 Nm and the lower bolt to 85 Nm. In this case, the car must be on the ground.
