Removal



Ford KA: Remove the trunk lining. Remove the trunk lining attachment, then pull out the three clips.

Mark the position of the rear wheel on the hub so that the balanced wheel can be installed in the same position. Loosen the wheel bolts while the car is on the ground. Support the car from behind and remove the rear wheel.

Unscrew the lower shock absorber strut mounting nut. Do not remove the bolt yet.

Loosen the upper nut of the rear shock absorber strut while holding the shock absorber rod with a 6…


Loosen the upper nut of the rear shock absorber strut while holding the shock absorber rod with a 6 mm open-end wrench.

Remove the lower mounting bolt and pull the shock absorber down.

Installation



Insert the shock absorber strut and secure it from above in the socket with a nut, without tightening it.

Insert the shock absorber strut from below into the recess of the longitudinal arm. Insert the bolt and screw on the nut without tightening it.

Install the rear wheel in accordance with the marks made earlier. Lightly lubricate the wheel hub socket and the conical surfaces of the wheel nuts. Do not lubricate the threads of the wheel studs. Tighten the wheel nuts. Lower the vehicle. Tighten the wheel nuts crosswise to a torque of 90 Nm.

Tighten the upper nut to 35 Nm while holding the shock absorber rod with an open-end wrench.

Tighten the lower strut mounting bolt to 120 Nm.

Ford CA: Insert the trunk lining mount and secure it with three clips. Attach the trunk lining.
