Removing
Ford KA: take out the lining of the trunk. Remove the fastening of the lining of the trunk, for which pull out the three clips.
Mark the position of the rear wheel on the hub so that you can then set the balanced wheel to the same position. Loosen the wheel bolts while the vehicle is on the ground. Support the car from behind and remove the rear wheel.
Loosen the lower suspension strut nut. Don't remove the bolt yet.
Unscrew the nut of the upper mounting of the rear suspension strut, while holding the shock absorber rod with a 6 mm open-end wrench.
Pull out the lower mounting bolt and pull the suspension strut down.
Installation
Insert the suspension strut and fasten it from above in the socket with a nut, without tightening it.
Insert the spring strut at the bottom into the recess in the trailing arm. Insert the bolt and screw on the nut without tightening it.
Install the rear wheel in accordance with the marks made earlier. Lightly grease the wheel hub housing and the tapered surfaces of the wheel nuts. Do not lubricate the threads of the wheel studs. Tighten the wheel nuts. Lower the car. Tighten wheel nuts crosswise to 90 Nm.
Tighten the top nut to 35 Nm while holding the shock absorber rod with an open end wrench.
Tighten the strut lower mounting bolt to 120 Nm.
Ford KA: insert the trunk liner fastener and secure it with three clips. Attach the trunk liner.
