Adjusting the throttle cable (Mazda 121 (3))

Press the accelerator pedal fully and hold it in this position. To do this, insert a suitable spacer between the seat and the pedal or use the help of an assistant.

Pull the adjusting bracket out of the throttle cable.

Pull out the cable bushing until the throttle lever, or the fuel injection pump lever for diesel engines, reaches the stop corresponding to the full opening of the throttle valve. In this position, insert the adjusting bracket back.

Release the gas pedal, then press it again and check if the throttle lever reaches (fuel injection pump lever on a diesel engine) until it stops. If this position is not achieved, repeat the adjustment.
