In order to reduce the noise from the air supply to the engine to a minimum, there are several intermediate containers in the intake pipe, the so-called resonators. Resonators reduce the amount of air vibrations in the intake system.
Air is supplied through a fitting under the left front fender. The first two resonators are also located there.
Removal
Turn off the ignition.

Loosen the hose clamps. Disconnect the air supply hose from the intake pipe and air flow meter (diesel: from air filter housing).
Remove the air filter assembly.

Petrol engines: remove the plugs of the inlet air temperature sensor (1) and the air flow meter (2) by releasing the plugs by pressing the side buttons.
Remove the upper part of the air filter housing.

Unhook the rubber mount (1) and disconnect the lower part of the air filter housing from the resonator (2). Disconnect the engine crankcase ventilation hose (3) from the lower part of the air filter housing.
Installation
Install the lower part of the air cleaner housing, making sure that the lower mounting pins enter the rubber bushings.
Install the engine crankcase ventilation hose and attach the rubber mount to the bottom of the air filter housing.
Install the upper air filter and filter element.
Petrol engines: Connect the plugs of the intake air temperature sensor and the air mass meter.
Put on the air supply hose and secure it with clamps.
